Lovehammers Thrill at Blueberry Hill!
by kbgirlref/Rachel

I don't even know where to begin! This show was f'ing amazing. I have been to a handful of shows and thought they were all great, but I can't put into words how this show blew the others away!!! I am so looking forward to HJ now. I can't imagine how they'll top this!

I am really bad at keeping details straight so I will just hit some highlights.

What didn't they play? They played every song on the new album; every song on MOMM; Throw My Head; Use Me; Give It Up; Velvet; 3 covers - Wish You Were Here (!!!); Ring of Fire; and Paint It Black.

Two or three encores!!! I can't remember how many. I do remember Marty coming out for the last one saying we were relentless. He really didn't expect this and they had no idea what else to play. I believe that's when they played Velvet and Paint It Black.

They did some acoustic songs - Clouds was one of them, but again, I'm not good with details. I'm always too busy living in the moment. So, I don't remember which others were acoustic.

The ceilings were really low, and there was a beam right above where Marty was standing (edge of stage). If he jumped up 1 foot he could hit his head. You could tell he was worried about this from the beginning. Some time in the middle of the show he told us this funny story about when they had just started touring he actually did knock himself out on the first song because he hit his head jumping around. (That doesn't sound very funny when I read it back, but the way he told it was comical.)

At about 10:30, Marty talked about Billy's birthday saying that he would be nice to him only for the 24 hours of his birthday. Just kinda joking around. We all sang Happy Birthday to him.

Marty called the lead guitarist of Modern Day Zero up on stage to play a song with them. I think it was This Town. He prefaced it with saying that they always try to bring someone up there with them. That many of us knew Jeremy. And last week they had Matt Hoffer.

Since there wasn't anything to climb on, Marty lifted himself up on the beam and swung around for awhile. He also ran through the crowd. (Of course, I wasn't paying attention. I was trying to get shots of Bobby while Marty wasn't right in front of him.)

I can't reiterate enough how this was the BEST show EVER!!!
